St. Elizabeth of Hungary Church, Pen Arygl, PA

Hello, and welcome to the Tiber River Café.  My name is Dean Humphreys, and today’s topic is Tiber River / Photos.  As part of the Tiber River Café evangelization project I want to show the truth and beauty of the Catholic Church.  What better way to show the beauty than with pictures.  I am not a trained photographer which is very evident when you see my photographs.  I am accustomed to using simple ‘point-and-shoot’ cameras with no thought about lighting, aperture, ISO, white balance, or shutter speeds.  But I recently purchased a bridge camera which is a step up from a point-and-shoot and set out to learn about all the buttons on my new camera.

A few days later I was making quick plans to visit my hometown due to a family funeral and decided to contact Fr. York, the pastor of St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Pen Argyl.  When visiting my parents I will attend Mass at St. Elizabeth’s which is in the next town over.  I emailed Fr. York and asked permission to take a few photographs of the church as part of my Tiber River Café evangelization project.  The inside of the church is beautiful, and I am completely drawn to the Crucifix behind the altar.  In its simplicity the Crucifix at St. Elizabeth of Hungary is a stunning and powerful statement of our Catholic faith.

So there you have it, the first installment of Tiber River / Photos.  And again, thanks to Fr. York at St. Elizabeth of Hungary in Pen Argyl, Pennsylvania.
Thanks for stopping by the Tiber River Café where there is always plenty of room at the banquet table.  I hope to see you next time.  Peace be with you.
